La Maison
The House |
 The central part of the house was built
in the 1920s by the great grandfather of the current owner. It was built for
his brother who was in the habit of drinking all his money. In providing the
house, he managed to prevent his little brother from drinking all his
money. Thus, the house represents a colourful part of the family's history.There followed a succession of tenants in whose occupation there was. apparently, no shortage of 'celebratory' consumption! In 1985 the house returned, by gift, to Madame Eveno. In 1990, she renovated the house and added the two wooden extensions in a style with the spirit of holiday in mind. |

 La partie centrale de la maison a
été construite dans les années 1920 par l'arrière
grand-père de la propriétaire actuelle, pour son frère qui
avait l'habitude de boire tout son argent. Cette maison représentait la
part de l'héritage familial; elle évitait ainsi au petit
frère de boire toute sa part.Ensuite, ce fut une succession de locataires, où la fête fut sûrement loin d'être absente! En 1985 , cette maison est revenue, par donation à Madame Eveno. En 1990, elle rénovait cette maison en lui ajoutant 2 extensions en structure bois, dans un esprit de vacances. |

The Area |
Lanigo is in the commune of La Chapelle
Neive, in the Départment of Morbihan. Morbihan bears the distinction of
being the only French départment not to have a French name. 'Mor Bihan'
is Breton and means 'Small Sea'. The small sea to which this refers is the Gulf
of Morbihan - a unique natural feature which is often compared to the Norwegian
fjords. According to legend, there are as many islands in the gulf as there are days in the year. In fact, one can count at least 300 islands, islets and rock outcrops at low tide. There are, certainly, about a hundred which can relistically be called islands. There are two principal islands of a reasonable size: L'île aux Moines (Monk's Island), known as the Pearl of the Gulf and L'île d'Arz. Many of the islans are inhabited - some by celebrities. Some of the islands are accessible on foot at low tide. Others are renowned as archeological sites, such as Île de Gavrinis. The Gulf benefits from its own micro-climate and is an ideal place for nautical activities, for lazing on the beach or for walking on the many kilometres of coastal paths. |

Lanigo est située en le
commune de La Chapelle Neuve, en le Département de Morbihan. Le Morbihan
est le seul département de France à ne pas porter de nom
français. En effet, 'Mor Bihan' signifie 'petite mer' en breton. La
petite mer est évidemment le golfe du Morbihan, site naturel unique en
France qui est parfois comparé aux fjords norvégiens. Selon la légende, on compterait autant d'îles dans le golfe du Morbihan que de jours dans l'année . En fait, si l'on peut compter plus de 300 îles, ilôts et rochers affleurant la surface à marée basse, le golfe comporte une centaine d'îles dignes de ce nom, dont deux îles principales de grande taille (l'Île aux Moines ["la perle du golfe"] et l'Île d'Arz). Beaucoup d'ilôts sont habités - parfois par des célébrités du spectacle. Certaines îles sont accessibles à pied à marée basse, d'autres sont célébres (Île de Gavrinis, site archéologique). Le golfe qui bénificie d'un micro-climat est un lieu idéal pour la pratique des sports nautiques, du farniente en bord de plage et de la marche sur ses dizaines de kms de sentiers côtiers. |
